Description
Intensive comprehensive aphasia programmes (ICAPs) are an innovative rehabilitation model that incorporate a high dose of aphasia therapy. Underpinning ICAPs is the rationale that addressing all aspects of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) simultaneously yields the best outcomes. Evidence from meta-analysis of positive phase II therapy trials indicates an average of 98.4 hours of Speech and Language therapy (SLT) was required for positive changes in mean language scores.
ICAPs use a range of techniques and modes of delivery including individual sessions, groups, e-therapy, community activities and working with an individual’s social or support network. They can be delivered face to face or via teletherapy.
This book provides:

- Application of the ICAP for a range of clinical settings and delivery options (or mode of delivery)
